Blueleaf Editorial offers thoughtful proofreading and light copyediting to support clear, confident writing. Based in Texas and serving clients worldwide.
I want writers to feel supported and understood. A good proofreading experience should feel calm, attentive, and purposeful. My goal is for you to receive a clean, polished document that reads with confidence and reflects your voice with care.
When I work with a document, I move through it in several focused passes. Each pass gives me a different lens so I can slow down, notice what matters, and bring clarity to the writing in a way that feels natural and respectful of the author’s intent.
I run Blueleaf Editorial as an independent proofreading studio here in Texas, thoughtfully supporting clients online across the US and beyond.
Hi, I’m Jan Marie, a professional proofreader with a calm, detail-focused, lightly editorial approach. My background in business and education, along with my training through Proofread Anywhere, has shaped a practical, steady process that supports both accuracy and each writer’s authentic voice.

For résumés, cover letters, bios, and one- to two-page business documents, I proofread for correctness and consistency. I also provide light copyediting to refine word choice, smooth sentences, and adjust flow so the final document feels confident, intentional, and polished while still sounding like you.
For longer pieces such as essays, articles, programs, proposals, guides, and other multi-page documents up to about 10,000 words, you’ll receive careful proofreading along with light clarity suggestions and consistency checks across sections to help the whole piece read smoothly and cohesively.
For short-form writing such as emails, blog posts, website pages, and general business documents up to about 1,200 words, I correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic consistency. I also flag anything unclear with a gentle comment so your tone stays genuinely yours.
If you’d like to see how I work, I’m happy to proofread up to 250 words at no charge.
Smaller projects include a minimum fee of $65 to cover setup, formatting checks, and delivery preparation.
Flat-rate packages start at $65 for a one-page résumé, cover letter, or related document. Each project includes proofreading plus light copyediting to improve clarity, tone, and flow.
Starting at 3¢ per word (USD)
Example: a 10,000 word manuscript is about $300
For documents longer than this, I can provide a custom quote or referral.
Starting at 2.5¢ per word (USD)
Example: a 1,200 word blog post is about $30
